How long to boil potatoes before roasting
Potatoes should be boiled for 10-12 minutes before baking or roasting. There are times when potatoes are prepared already cut and pre-boiled in the packaging. These potatoes should be cooked for two minutes in a microwave before baking or roasting.
How long to bake potatoes
If baking whole potatoes, bake for 40 to 60 minutes. For smaller cut pieces, 25-35 minutes is a good time for baking or until crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Parboiled potatoes (or microwaved potatoes) will take lesser time to bake in the oven or air fryer. 20 minutes is a good time to start checking for doneness.
How long to roast potatoes at 400
Roast potatoes @400C/200F for 40 to 60 minutes or until tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. More importantly, the size of the spud would determine how long to roast it. Below is a guideline of what to expect, always check for doneness and adjust cooking time accordingly.
